Four lawyers from Guthrie & Thomas, PLLC were recently selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2012 (Copyright 2011 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken, S.C.).
David Thomas was selected in three categories – Bet-the-Company Litigation, Commercial Litigation and Environmental Litigation. David is the Managing Member of the firm. His practice is centered on corporate defense in complex litigation matters.
George Guthrie was honored in Antitrust Law. In addition to his activities in that area he also represents medical professionals in disciplinary and licensing issues and he advises corporations and medical professionals in various business matters.
Rebecca Betts was named in Commercial Litigation. A former United States Attorney, Rebecca represents major corporate defendants in mass tort and class action litigation involving personal injury, antitrust, securities, and other claims. She frequently represents corporate defendants in regulatory investigations and claims brought by the West Virginia Attorney General and West Virginia Securities Commissioner.
David Hardy was recognized for his work in Energy Law. Dave is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law and is a CPA, and a Kanawha County Commissioner. He is a frequent presenter at West Virginia Coal Association Meetings and conducts training on mine health and safety issues for clients across the country. Mr. Hardy leads Guthrie & Thomas’ busy MSHA / OSHA practice.
