Mr. Mazey’s practice focuses on civil litigation defense. Specifically, he has experience in defending products liability, mass tort, premises liability, and commercial litigation cases throughout West Virginia. Although the majority of his representation involves corporate defendants, Mr. Mazey often represents individuals or entities in personal injury cases and other disputes. Mr. Mazey is admitted to practice law in all West Virginia state and federal courts, and he was recently invited to the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference at the recommendation of U.S Circuit Court of Appeals Judge M. Blane Michael.
Prior to joining G&T in 2007, Mr. Mazey served as Deputy General Counsel to then-Governor Joe Manchin, III. In this capacity, Mr. Mazey advised the Governor and General Counsel regarding legislative matters and litigation. During his tenure, the Governor’s Office of General Counsel was instrumental in passage of legislation creating a new mine emergency-response system as well as other emergency provisions. Before his role as Deputy General Counsel, Mr. Mazey worked with another Charleston law firm in its commercial litigation department.
